AI Investing to Slow Down and Reverse Human Ageing Dear Reader, We are currently galloping full speed along an exponential curve that unlike the neural nets of the 1990's, that promised a lot but delivered very little, this time it really looks like we are on the verge of AI success, not only that but it heralds changes in every aspect of our lives most of which we cannot even imagine today, hence the term the singularity is often used, the AI event horizon beyond which we cannot see. My latest analysis in this series focuses on how to profit and capitalise on the unfolding machine intelligence driven mega-trend through investing in leveraged to AI Human Life Extension stocks.

Though artificial intelligence should more accurately be termed as Super Intelligence for AI will only be comparable to human intelligence for a brief period of time, perhaps no more than a few short months before AI starts leaving us behind, as we will largely remain stuck in that which our 1300cc or so of grey matter can process, where even the likes of today's Einstein's in comparison will have mice like cognition within a decade or so of the machine intelligence first surpassing humans that will likely prompt many to seek to merge with the machine intelligence to go beyond biological constraints to enhance cognitive abilities such as in memory storage and access. So if you've not already done so then watch my following video from 2016 which illustrated why everything will start to change exponentially by as early as 2021! That's now in less than 2 years away! Machine Intelligence has become a broad church that has fragmented or branched off into a myriad of sub sectors and the number keeps expanding with each passing year. Where my focus is on 10 key machine mega-trend sectors to invest in. For a primer on how to go about accumulating stock investments then then see my following video : Whilst the focus of this analysis is on life extension sub sector. However the starting point is ALWAYS my Top 10 AI Stocks to capitalise on this mega-trend of which I consider the first 5 stocks as PRIMARY. As these key AI stocks will have their fingers in multiple pies, so you will already have exposure to to most of the sub sectors via these primary stocks that I covered in-depth in this article Top 10 AI Stocks for Investing to Profit from the Machine Intelligence Mega-trend Humanities Quest for Immortality Mankind's greatest enemy has always been death, for Death ALWAYS Wins, and so as humans evolved the ability to imagine that which does not exist to be real, so began mans journey down the rabbit hole into wonderland as ever more elaborate stories would be imagined and told as fact that death was not the end of mans journey, for it is clear that it is difficult for self conscious minds to cope with the reality of death as being final. And so to avoid the evolutionary dead end of madness, which was perhaps the fate of successor species given their false starts at consciousness, then ever more elaborate stories of what lies on the other side of darkness would go on to form compendiums of stories that would come to be known as religions, stories with roots that perhaps span as long as 100,000 years when they were first being ushered into existence via click based proto languages, to be told and then retold and embellished as language developed, perhaps rooted in grains of truth such as the Garden of Eden being an oasis of abundance in a wilderness of danger. Then more recently over the past 4000 years the stories were increasingly being written down first as symbols and then scriptures that contained magical properties the meanings of which being reserved for rulers and their high priests to understand. And so mankind's history of the past 10,000 years has been one of the mass of humans obediently following religious doctrine so that they may cheat death and pass the test and be rewarded with an eternal life of plenty. Homo sapient religious as I covered in-depth many years ago in this article - 18 Oct 2015 - Homo Sapiens Rationalensis Diverging From Revelation to the Apocalypse However, ALL of this is about to change as humanity courtesy of Artificial Super Intelligence is about to turn the myths and stories into a reality of sorts. Though it is unlikely to render religious doctrine obsolete as religion appears to be hard coded in our genes and so humanity will invent new gods and religions likely based on the emerging machine intelligence as it increasingly gains god like powers beyond the comprehension of 1300cc of grey matter. The story of mankind's journey towards immortality is important both from a personal perspective as each person seeks to extend ones own life via the machine intelligence driven life sciences mega-trend AND to PROFIT from this trend by investing in those stocks most likely to deliver true life extension and not the tinkering around the edges that we have witnessed during the the past 100 years, which contrary to the big pharma's hype has barely achieved much in terms of extending healthy human life spans beyond that which is encoded in our genes, if anything widespread pollution of our environment is pointing towards a reduction in average human life spans unless AI innovations come to the rescue. How to Extend Your Telomeres to Slow down and Reverse Human Ageing The modern day story towards immortality begins with an African american woman whose cells were stolen by big pharma who went onto profit from what were called HELA cells to the tune of tens of not hundreds of billions of dollars, used as a benchmark for research and testing. Thankfully many decades after the theft. the world has come to know the origins of the HELA cells, namely Henrietta Lacks. TELOMERES So what's so special about HELA cells and why are they important in the quest towards immortality? Well basically because HELA cells ARE IMMORTAL!
Normally cells only divide a set number of times and then Apoptosis occurs a form of programmed cell death due the telomeres (which act like caps at the ends of the chromosomes) shortening with each cell division. instead these and many cancer cells produce an enzyme called Telomerase which extends the telomeres with each cell division so the cells keep dividing for many more multiples of cell divisions.
Extending Telomeres We all know that STRESS is bad for you. And we have all seen the experience of those who have been under heavy stress, perhaps through the unexpected loss of loved one who literally age before our very eyes. Well now we better understand the process going on, because STRESS hastens the shortening of Telomeres, due to the body producing less Telomerase! Therefore. if you want to doing something TODAY to extend your life then that should be to reduce stress in your life. Adopt strategies to diminish stress such as analysing the problem and working out step by step solutions to that which is causing you stress. The next strategy in increasing Telomerase is through meditation which has been PROVEN to increase production of Telomerase, so say build up to doing 30 minutes of Yoga per day.
In recent years many supplements have come to the market promising to increase Telomeres and cure ageing. However I am skeptical of all of these because I understand that we are at the very beginning of our journey towards immortality, after all advanced AI has yet to pass that of average human intelligence, and so it could not just be that these supplements fail to work but that they may actually do more harm than good! i.e. prove cancerous! After all that is what cancerous cells tend to be - immortal with telomeres that do not shorten! So I wouldn't rush off to buy any pills thinking they will extend your life as like dozens of Chinese Emperors who died premature deaths due to their mercury and arsenic fuelled elixirs of eternal life proved the results may turn out to be the exact opposite then that which you were hoping for. For now stick with that which has been proven to work. 1. Eat Healthy 2. Exercise 3. Avoid stress 4. Meditate i.e. yoga. Slowing Down the Ageing Process Lifting Weights to Increase Lean Muscle Mass If one wants to slowdown the ageing process than one needs to emulate a young body. Which means less fat and more muscle mass. Therefore the starting point for combating ageing is strength training, lifting weights increases muscle mass over time and you don't want to wait until you hit 50 before you start weight training. For instance I have been regularly lifting weights since I was about 15 which now by age 51 I am sure has played a significant part in my not being on any medications for the treatment of any age related condition.
So if you want to combat ageing than if you have not already done so consider starting to lift weights to increase muscle mass. You don't need to rush out and get a expensive gym membership or equipment i.e. weighing down a couple of bags will get you started. Then soon progress onto kettle bells, a couple of dumbbells.
How to Strength Train Yes, we know it's all about lifting weights. But the critical mechanism for increasing strength is to progressively increase the load on the muscles to exhaustion. For example if you are only able to to lift a 10kg kettle bell for 10 repetitions (reps) on your first set until failure, then at you next workout you will aim to either match those 10 reps or exceed them by 1 i.e. your next first set will be 11 reps and so on for each set of your workout. Eventually you will be doing more than 20 reps per set and so it will be time to increase the weight used from 10kg to 15kg which perhaps will knock the number of reps back down to 10, and once more repeat the process of first matching and then increasing reps for each set at each subsequent workout until your number of reps exceeds 20 and thus it is time to increase the weight once more. Though steer clear of attempting 1 rep max's, as these greatly increase the risks of injury. And that is how to strength train. Someone just starting out will see a rapid increase in reps and weights over their first 6 months of regular strength training thank for instance someone who has been training for decades. But at a minimum one maintains their max rep count for a particular set. Though as one ages this does become increasingly more difficult maintain as it takes longer for ones body to recover from a workout before the next one so workout frequency reduces. But so far I have managed to always train at my maximum reps for each set, even if the rate of increase in rep count has slowed to for instance just a 1 rep increase for a workout every month or so. Still I can say I am stronger today than at any time in my life and still slowly continuing to get stronger, all of which helps combat and slow down the ageing process. In fact if you have not already done any strength training or stopped several years ago, then a good personal study into it's effectiveness on virtually every aspect of your biology is to have a comprehensive blood work done before you start and then after 6 months of regular strength training have another blood test and compare the difference and I am sure you will see the health markers such as cholesterol, blood sugar are moving in the right direction, as you will have effectively turned back your biological clock as your body increasingly emulates that of a younger body. Strength training IS probably the single most important thing you can start to do today to slowdown and even reverse the ageing process. Though remember NO drugs such as steroids or the pro hormones for they will actually act to SHORTERN your life! Metformin the World's First Anti-Ageing Life Extension Wonder Drug?
Therefore logic would dictate that you want to aim to bridge that gap between reduction of enzymes and hormones with some supplementation, limited and occasional supplementation but definitely don't seek to become a hypochondriac pill guzzler. Nevertheless there are some drugs that studies show favourable results for , albeit with side effects as the price paid for taking ANY drug. Most notable of which is the diabetes treatment drug Metformin that has several studies to back up its anti ageing claims, and that the generic versions are relatively cheap and easily bought online! Metformin is a FDA approved drug in use in the US since the early 1990s for prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes. Studies have shown it to be effective in extending life spans of mice. Analysis of human diabetic populations taking Metformin back up its anti-ageing properties in fighting age related diseases such as cardiovascular disease, reducing risk of cancer, the mechanisms of actions are due to its effects in reducing insulin levels and improved insulin action and currently over 100 human clinical trials are in progress to test its anti-ageing properties. It appears that as increasing lean muscle mass does, so Metformin does have the effect of changing the biology of ageing tissues to a younger profile. LIMITLESS - Improving Cognitive Function and Fighting Brain Ageing Right Now! I am sure most have watched the 2011 movie Limitless, where failing writer Eddie Morra has poor future prospects, until that is he is given a drug that greatly enhances mental ability, through use of which Eddie accrues a fortune trading the markets. Whilst we can all dream about a limitless pill, however once more it's a case of bridging the decline in production of enzymes and hormones, and given that most of the Brain is basically FAT, then supplementation with Omega 3 fatty acid's should help bridge that gap where if deficient following supplementation you may notice a difference in mood over time. An even more promising supplement that should help those who have become deficient in their natural production of the important signaling neuro transmitter acetylcholine due to the ageing process is Alpha GPC (alpha-glycerylphosphorylcholine).
The lack of adquate Acetylcholine results in a foggy mind i.e. difficulty in forming and accessing short-term memories with studies showing lack of acetylcholine playing an important role in diseases such as Alzheimer's In fact for this you can do a test to see if you are deficient or not and that is when not having taken Alpha GPC before or for several months, then take triple the recommended dose of these over the counter supplements say 900 mg and see if it has any effect on lifting your mind. If you notice a difference over the course of an hour or so then supplementation with Alpha GPC could help your cognitive function by ensuring your brain has enough of this neurotransmitter at its disposal. However note that there are a lot of over priced supplemental cocktails out there that basically take Alpha GPC or worse plain old Choline and then add some 'extras' to justify a much higher price tag that in reality are just sales gimmicks resulting in marginal benefit if any over regular Alpha GPC. Note current cheapest price on Amazon is £14.95 for 60 X 300mg, so don't get ripped off! Whilst there are drugs that do give a temporary mental boost such as Modifinal (200mg) that boosts alertness for about 12 hours, however these have side effects such as dehydration, and are prone to becoming less effective through regular use as is the case with the in betweeners, the racetams, so if you opt for any of these then the number 1 rule is to avoid regular use due to the brains feed back mechanism making them less effective with regular use. And that you need to give your brain time to recover from having hit the boost button. So we await the advent of the limitless NZT pill which AI will likely contribute towards making a reality to some degree over the coming decades likely as medicines marketed for the treatment of illnesses such as Alzheimer's are found to enhance normal brain function as well. In the meantime we currently have limited support for age related diminished cognitive ability via the likes of Alpha GPC and temporary boosts in cognitive function from the likes of alertness promoting Modifinal. As always do your own research before you start popping any pills, even for something as seemingly benign as Omega 3. Whilst we await a working medical solution to telomere shortening, what else is out there? Well the internet for want of a better word is littered with scams potions that at best don't work and at worse do more harm then good!. The thing about ageing is that our bodies work less efficiently over time and thus develop deficiencies.
